1. What This Tool Does

RefundDesk helps importers identify customs entries that may be eligible for a refund of duties assessed under IEEPA authority, calculate estimated refund amounts and accrued interest, track 180-day protest deadlines under 19 U.S.C. § 1514, and prepare draft protest cover letters and entry schedules for professional review.

2. What This Tool Does Not Do

• This application does not submit protests, petitions, or any documents to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) or any other government agency.
• This application does not provide legal advice, customs brokerage services, or any professional services regulated by law.
• This application does not guarantee that any refund will be granted or that any protest will be successful.
• This application does not replace the judgment of a licensed customs broker, attorney, or other qualified professional.

3. Draft Documents Only

All documents generated by this application — including protest cover letters and entry schedules — are clearly marked DRAFT and are intended solely for review by your licensed customs broker or attorney. These documents must be independently reviewed, corrected if necessary, and authorized by a qualified professional before any submission to CBP. Filing an incomplete, incorrect, or unauthorized protest may result in loss of protest rights or other adverse consequences.

4. Accuracy of Estimates

Refund estimates, interest calculations, and deadline dates are computed from data you provide and are approximations only. Interest rates, eligibility rules, and CBP interpretations may change. The application uses a fixed annual interest rate approximation; actual CBP interest rates are set quarterly and may differ. Always verify calculations with your broker or attorney.

5. Your Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the accuracy of all data you upload or enter.
• You are responsible for ensuring that any document generated is reviewed and authorized by a qualified professional before filing.
• You are responsible for meeting all applicable deadlines. This tool may not capture every deadline applicable to your entries.
• You must not use this tool to prepare documents for entries where you do not have authority to act.

6. No Warranty

This application is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no representations that the application is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. Use of this application is at your own risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this application or its outputs, including but not limited to lost refunds, missed deadlines, or penalties assessed by CBP.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
